Virginia Weekend For Kid Rocket

Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards made a return trip to Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA Saturday evening to race in the ‘Rumble On The River 50’ presented by Thurston Spring Service, Inc., that was originally scheduled for April 8 before the race was pushed back one week by rain. The race was captured before the SPEED cameras for a July 16 broadcast. Kid Rocket competed in his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand Prix.

Kid Rocket timed in 14th fastest among the 41-car contingent on hand for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned event. The team experienced trouble in the heat race and finished tenth followed by a fifth place finish in the B Main which forced the team to take a provisional start in the main event where Kid Rocket finished 12th after starting 24th.

Kid Rocket is currently ninth in World of Outlaws Late Model Series points, a mere 82 points in arrears of first place.

Kid Rocket and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will travel Tuesday, April 18 to Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Penn. for the April 7 rain postponed $10,000 to win ‘Spring Showdown In Sarver Town 50’.
