Shinnston, WV --- Josh
‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV put forth a career effort on Monday
night August 15 at Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York for the World of
Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series where Kid Rocket scored his career first
feature in a thrilling 50-lap main event dubbed the “CarQuest Auto Parts
50”. Kid Rocket collected $10,000 for the stunning victory in his Mark
Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB
Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand
Prix.
Kid Rocket’s soon-to-be most memorable night of racing began by winning the
third heat over Scott Bloomquist. Lining up last in the six car dash race to
set the starting field for the “CarQuest Auto Parts 50” Kid Rocket utilized
his patented high-flying, thrill-a-minute driving technique to work his way
up to second place when the checkers dropped giving him the outside front
row starting spot alongside pole sitter Dale McDowell.
At the start of the main event Scott Bloomquist took the immediate lead with
Kid Rocket in second place as they toured the surface at breakneck speeds.
After a lap six restart Rick Eckert was able to slip by Kid Rocket for
second until lap 19 when a restart after a caution period allowed Kid Rocket
to take the lead on lap 20 and by lap 25 was working his way through lapped
traffic. After a lap 38 restart Kid Rocket was able to begin pulling away
from then second running Tim McCreadie. A lap 44 caution tightened the field
up and set the stage for a six-lap dash to the checkers and despite
McCreadie making an attempt to pass Kid Rocket he was able to hold the lead
and eventually pull away with a healthy lead and the eventual career-first
feature victory.
Up next for Kid Rocket and the Stacker 2 World of Outlaws Late Model Series
will be the August 16 event at Rolling Wheels Raceway, the $15,000 To Win
“Advanced Auto Parts 50”.
Also, Kid Rocket will be a special guest next Monday evening August 22 on
the Dirt Nation™ presented by Lucas Oil national radio program. The show
airs from 8:00 – 10:00 PM EST at: www.racetalklive.com |
