‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV just competed in a weekend swing in
Pennsylvania with the Stacker 2 World of Outlaw Late Model Series (WoO LMS)
driving his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal
Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett
Engines Grand Prix.
On Friday August 12 Kid Rocket entered the fourth "Show-Down at Sarver
Town!" with the World of Outlaws Stacker 2 Late Model Series at Lernerville
Speedway where he timed in 11th fastest and scored a third place finish in
his heat race. Starting 11th in the main event Kid Rocket went to the top
groove and started picking off cars and was in fifth by lap 12. By lap 15 he
was battling side by side with Chub Frank and slipped over the cushion on
lap 26 where the car straddled the cushion and the front bumper forcefully
dug into the surface stopping the car immediately relegated to the tail in
26th position Kid Rocket worked his way back up to 15th before the checkers
fell.
On Saturday the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series traveled to
Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA for the “Pigeon Hills 50” where Kid
Rocket was fourth fastest in time trials and scored a second in his heat
race and came across the checkers in the main event in eighth place.
The SPEED Channel cameras caught all the action at the Lernerville event.
The Lernerville Speedway event is tentatively scheduled to air Saturday,
November 19th at 3:00p.m. EST
A special “meet –n- greet” for fans attending the Friday, August 12th
“Advanced Auto Parts 50” at Lernerville Speedway was held and Kid Rocket
participated at the “Lernerville Speedway Store” located 20 minutes from the
speedway on State Route 28 in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall.
On Sunday August 14 Kid Rocket appeared on the new Dirt Racers Radio
program, hosted by Doc Lehman & Ryan Pearson on WQKT 104.5 FM in Wooster,
OH, that airs every Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST and is available
via the internet at: www.WQKT.com The show will be archived.
