Last weekend at
Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards scored his
best career finish with the Stacker 2 World of Outlaws Late Model Series
(WoO LMS) when he finished an impressive third in the rain shortened WoO
LMS race at Lernerville. Kid Rocket competed in his Mark Richards
Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports,
Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Gran Prix. This
weekend Kid Rocket will make his second appearance on the asphalt before
he returns to the WoO LMS tour.
On Friday night April 29 Richards timed in sixth fastest during time
trials and won his heat race by a full straightaway. Richards was
running a strong third during the feature when rains came and the
checkers dropped halfway due to the inclement weather. “The car was
awesome,” stated Richards. “It was extremely good. We ran good in the
heat and won that and then I drove over my head in the dash and knocked
it out of gear. In the feature I was between third and fifth the whole
race and then got back into third after that last restart and it paid
off.”
This weekend Kid Rocket will not be attending the UMP race at Kentucky
Lake Motor Speedway due to having to miss two school days to make that
event. The team regrets missing that race but the school days saved will
allow him a couple days off during the last week of this year’s school
session during the annual SHOW ME 100 and the WoO LMS Wednesday event at
Farley, IA.
This Friday May 6 Kid Rocket will make his second appearance on the
asphalt at Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, PA driving the Neil Brown
Late Model. Richards made his pavement racing debut Friday night April
15 at the Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, PA for the Season Opener
featuring the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series NAPA Late Models in a 40-lap
main event. When the final checkers flew Kid Rocket soared across the
checkers in second place in his pavement debut.
At this time the team’s plans for Saturday are unclear.
Kid Rocket has also released three new T-Shirts and a new sweatshirt.
Additionally, new Kid Rocket hats will be forthcoming produced by Slavic
Custom Shirts. All new merchandise can be purchased at the tracks or
through Kid Rocket’s website at: www.joshrichards.com
