Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV made his third trip to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH and his first appearance at the track’s famous WORLD 100 driving his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand Prix.

Kid Rocket amazed the multitude of race fans by timing in 14th fastest out of the huge 215 car field on Friday evening. When activities commenced on Saturday Kid Rocket started on the pole of the second heat where he eventually finished a strong second. Starting eighth in the 35th Annual World 100 Kid Rocket had a harrowing few moments on the opening pace lap when he inadvertently ran over a control arm that was on the track surface from a prior mishap. Kid Rocket pitted for a new tire and was able to rejoin the field in his original starting position.

When the green flag dropped Kid Rocket amazed the crowd with an aggressive and smooth run working his way up to fifth when on lap nine the car slowed when the driveshaft malfunctioned due to being damaged previously by the track debris. Although it was a heartbreaking end to his first World 100 drive the 17-year-old still let those in attendance that he was there.

During Saturday afternoon at Eldora Speedway Kid Rocket was a special guest on the pre-race live broadcast of the Sunoco Race Fuels sponsored Dirt Nation™ presented by Lucas Oil radio show. Kid Rocket appeared on the show before a live audience with Rick Eckert and Earl Pearson, Jr.
