Kid Rocket records another top 5 at KC

Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV traveled to Jim Near’s K-C Raceway this past weekend for the tour’s two-day Veterans Appreciation Weekend event in his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand Prix. On Friday at K-C Raceway just before the heat races started, rain began to fall washing out the events for Friday nights program.

On Saturday night in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Josh went out to qualify and registered his second fast-time award of the season, turning a lap of 14.028 seconds (96.236 mph) to lead the 48-car time-trial session for tonight’s race. Kid Rocket finished second in the first heat right behind Steve Shaver. Kid Rocket lined up in the fifth starting position and had moved up to battle three wide with Billy Moyer, Shaver and Tim McCreadie at times for position and ended up fifth in the fifty lap event.

Up next for the young driver will be a WoO LMS sanctioned event at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, MO on Tuesday July 25th. Then on Wednesday the series moves on to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL on July 26th.
