September 19, 2005

Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards of Shinnston, WV returned to the Midwest this past weekend for a trio of races with the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series with on event being rained out. Richards competed all weekend in his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand Prix.

Inclement weather in the St. Louis, MO area forced officials of Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL and World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series officials to cancel the $10,000 to win “Coldwell Banker/Gundaker – Miller Lite Nationals 50” Friday evening. It is unclear whether the event will be rescheduled. Several inches of rain fell on the speedway grounds Thursday and early Friday morning and despite a herculean effort track officials were not able to get the ˝ mile speedway into a safe, raceable condition resulting in the cancellation.

The following night the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series sanctioned “Pepsi Nationals 55” Saturday at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO was held where Kid Rocket qualified 25th fastest in time trials and finished sixth in his heat race with a third in first B Main. When the checkers waved in the main event he finished 14th.

On Sunday Kid Rocket traveled to the $12,000 to win “14th Annual Best Western Illinois Fall Nationals 30” at the one mile Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL for the first time where he qualified second fastest and then won the second heat before finishing fourth in the main event.

Up next for Kid Rocket and team will be two World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series sanctioned events this weekend including the "Wildcat Fall Fling 50" on Friday September 23 at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY followed the next night with the "Clarksville Clash Volunteer 50" on Saturday September 24 at Clarksville Racing Complex in Clarksville, TN.
