‘Kid Rocket’ Has Busy Racing Weekend

Shinnston, WV --- It was a busy weekend for Josh ‘Kid Rocket’ Richards as the 17-year-old Stacker 2 World of Outlaws Late Model Series rookie of the year contender hit the road for series events in Ohio and Indiana competing in his Mark Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Gran Prix.

On Friday night Kid Rocket and team went to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, OH for the “Barry Chevrolet 50”. Qualifying third fastest, Richards finished second in his heat race and crossed the checkers in sixth place and the WoO LMS ‘Rookie of the Race’ award.

On Saturday night Kid Rocket ventured to Tommy Helfrich’s Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN for the “Armed Forces Day 60”. Kid Rocket qualified fourth fastest during time trials and finished fourth in his heat race. During the main event Kid Rocket started tenth but finished in the 11th position and again picked up the WoO LMS ‘Rookie of the Race’ honors.

The cameras of SPEED Channel captured all the side-by-side, fast paced action of the $10,000 to win “Armed Forces Day 60” at the high-banked ¼ mile speedway. The tape-delayed broadcast will air July 9th at 4:00p.m. EDT.

Coming up next for Kid Rocket will be the prestigious SHOW ME 100 weekend at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO. The SHOW ME 100 will be held May 26-28. After a one-week break from the schedule for the SHOW ME, the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series fires back up with four events in four states in a six day period. Race teams travel to Farley Speedway in Farley, IA Wednesday, June 1st for the “Farley 50”, Eagle Raceway in Lincoln (Eagle),NE Friday, June 3rd for the “High Bank Heist 60”, Dakota State Fair Speedway in Huron, SD Saturday, June 4th for the “Challenge Cup 50” and then to Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN for the “26th Annual Gopher 50”. All four events pay the winner $10,000.
