Mooresville, NC --- 17-year-old high school senior Josh Richards, known by his fans as ‘Kid Rocket’ and who has made an explosive impact on dirt Late Model racing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, has signed an exclusive management contract with Motorsports Management International founded by famed motorsports attorney, promoter & car owner Cary Agajanian. Motorsports Management International, with corporate offices located in Charlotte, Los Angeles and Indianapolis also represents such noted drivers as newly crowned NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Matt Kenseth, Dave Blaney, Jason Leffler and Jeff Green. Motorsports Management International will focus on guiding Richards’ career as he moves up the motorsports ladder. “I’m lucky to have someone like Mr. Agajanian represent me,” commented Richards, who attends high school in Shinnston, WV and who won the 2005 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Rookie of the Year title. “It’s a great opportunity for me as a driver to have someone of that caliber helping me out. He seems interested in what maybe I can do later. He seems like he’s pretty excited to see what we can get done.” Richards spent a weekend in Florida recently with Agajanian and his associates at the Homestead Speedway near Miami, FL during the season finale weekend for NASCAR that saw fellow Motorsports Management International client Tony Stewart clinch his second NASCAR Nextel Cup championship. Motorsports Management International staff introduced Richards to various car crew chiefs, engine builders, tire specialists and car owners like Richard Childress and Ray Evernham, among others. “That was great, just to be able to walk up and talk to them was pretty cool,” reflected Richards. “I was watching that race the whole time though and thinking, ‘Man, I’d like to be out there right now!’ That’s what I want to do, just race.” Richards, who will be racing in 2006 with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in search of a championship title in his Mark Richards Racing-owned Rocket Chassis #1 dirt Late Model, expressed confidence in Agajanian’s experience and passion for short track racing in helping him achieve his goals of eventually reaching the highest plateau in racing, NASCAR. “Yes, definitely, I just want to get out there and drive and with Mr. Agajanian’s help, advice and assistance I hope to achieve that goal,” Richards confirmed. “We’ll be keeping our eyes open for other opportunities.” Richards’ next race will be the upcoming 20th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK where he will make his debut in a Midget during the January 11-14, 2006 extravaganza as a member of the Venture Racing Team and teamed with Tony Stewart, Jason Leffler, Sammy Swindell and Kevin Swindell.
