JOSH RICHARDS SET TO KICK OFF 2010 TOUR AT GOLDEN ISLES

SHINNSTON, W.V. (January 26, 2010) – After a whirlwind 2009 season that was filled with a close championship title battle, historic milestones, fifteen victories and a dirt racing tour that consisted of 70 events, Josh Richards was ready to enjoy his off-season. Most of the winter months have been busy with appearances and hours of preparation in the shop and testing (both dirt and pavement) so it has been anything but time "off" but something that Richards loves to do.

"Our 2009 season was stressful with all of the pressures of the points battle so most of it was a blur until that final night at Lowe's when it all sunk it," recalled Richards, who earned his father's first championship title as a car owner in over two decades. "We do this because we love it, so to end that 2009 season was bittersweet. It has been a hectic winter but I am really looking forward to what 2010 will hold for us."

Richards, 21, will kick off his 2010 tour this week at Golden Isles Speedway for the "Super Bowl of Racing VI". The Southern Allstars' sanctioned trifecta will consist of three independent nights of racing on Thursday, January 28th, through Saturday, January 30th, with features increasingly upping the ante from $7,500 to $10,000 to win on Friday night and a $12,000 finale. Last season, the No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches Rocket Chassis' team earned three Top-5 finishes at the ultra-fast Georgia speedway.

The reigning World of Outlaws' Late Model Series' Champion will embark on an anticipated 78 events at 52 different venues with his 2010 dirt tour. In addition to a busy schedule with his primary focus in the professional dirt late model ranks, Josh will continue to hone his skills behind the wheel of various cars and on different surfaces as his schedule allows. After a record-setting performance last season at East Bay Raceway Park driving the Ernie Davis owned No. 25 Rocket, Josh will only have three nights of racing on the clay by the bay before heading to Daytona International Speedway to attempt to qualify for the competitive "Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200" ARCA RE/MAX opener.

"I am thankful for everyone who makes it possible for me to give pavement racing a try. It isn't that I am turning my back on dirt since it is my primary focus; but an opportunity to learn more about the mechanics of cars and the differences in surface and equipment helps me become a more well-rounded competitor," Richards noted. "I'm bummed to miss some of the racing at East Bay but am looking forward to driving the No. 99 for Ken Schrader Racing at Daytona. Hopefully we can get a good finish so then I can go on to my most anxious moment of Speedweeks – the World of Outlaws' season opener at Volusia."

Richards may be nervous but he has claimed top honors in the tour's debut for the last three years. Stay up-to-date with the latest Josh Richards' news and information by logging on to http://www.joshrichards.com.
