Shinnston, WV --- Josh ‘Kid Rocket’
Richards headed north to the Keystone state for some World of Outlaws Late
Model Series action but only heat race and preliminary action got in before
inclement weather postponed the event. Kid Rocket was competing in his Mark
Richards Racing-owned #1 Seubert Calf Ranches, Ace Metal Works, MCB
Motorsports, Hoosier Racing Tires, Rocket Chassis, Cornett Engines Grand
Prix.
Kid Rocket was on hand for the 18th annual Pittsburgher 100 at Pittsburgh’s
Pennsylvania Motor Speedway but with rainy weather in the area and forecasts
predicting more of the same track and series officials decided early
Saturday afternoon to reschedule the completion of the Pittsburgher 100
weekend to Sunday October 8.
With 54 cars on hand Kid Rocket qualified fifth fastest during time trials
and finished second in his heat race which will put him fifth on the
starting grid when the feature race is made up on Sunday October 8.
This coming weekend Kid Rocket has entered the 3rd Annual Lucas Oil
Knoxville Late Model Nationals, September 28, 29 & 30. They will qualify
Thursday night, September 28, and race again on Saturday, September 30 in
the 100 lap Feature. Joining Kid Rocket for the weekend will be teammate
Tony Stewart.
Tony will be driving the Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Boats, Rocket Chassis #20
entered by Mark Richards Racing, Inc.
Kid Rocket is the latest Late Model driver to sign-up to wait tables at the
Knoxville Late Model Celebrity Waiter Dinner & Auction on Saturday,
September 30. The annual fund-raising event, which is held in conjunction
with the Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals, benefits the host
National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville and, to a lesser
degree, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Kentucky. Kid
Rocket will be competing at the third annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model
Nationals, September 28-29-30. |
